Another chance to win ...
and a very naughty hedgehog ...
This is not a naughty hedgehog ... for more on that story, read on!
But first - to Prickles and Paws, the Newquay hedgehog rescue. I was honoured to be asked to be a patron - and you may remember I was there, helping open their new Hogspital!! They are a rescue that is serious about what they do - not dogmatic, but willing to listen to science. They are determined to do their best to help hedgehogs.
And now they have a special offer for you - a chance to win one of two copies of The RSPB Pocket Book of Hedgehogs. This is particularly aimed at the 118 people who did not win when I put up the offer!!
How to do it is very simple - go to THIS LINK - fill it in and keep your fingers crossed!
If I find anyone else putting out an offer for my books, I will of course let you know!
Now, to the slightly prickly subject of the naughty hedgehog that has made it into so much news - and an alarming addition to that story!
Did you see the story?
Over the years I have been to many events where part of the fundraising has come from the selling of hedgehogs made from the folded pages of books - in fact I have one sitting next to me now, complete with bow for the hair, button eyes and a button nose!
Well - it seems that some of the ones being handed out were made from books of a raunchy nature ... but were being given children. Police intervened and have cleared the crafter of malicious intent ...
A good summer story - but here is something else .... quite a few years ago I was given one of these crafted books after doing a talk at a Women’s Institute (I honestly do not remember where in the country, there have been hundreds!) The WI had been running a workshop on how to make them, and then selling them to raise funds.
When I got home I thought I would look and see what sort of book had been used ... and found to my surprise that the pages I opened were I think best described as ‘Not Suitable For Work’!!! I wish I could find that hedgehog - but it is ‘somewhere’. The one beside me now is very tame!
Do let me know if you have ever received an ‘erotic hedgehog’!!!
Now - go and try and win a copy of my book, but please, don’t go all meta and turn it into a folded hedgehog!!!!
